  • Duration

    2 Days
  • Tools

    Blender, Photoshop

Project Description

This was one of my early experiments with CGI and Blender. I used drone-style camera movement to simulate a temple reveal animation featuring a 3D Ganpati idol. It helped me understand lighting, animation curves, shadow realism, and camera depth — essential foundations for realistic CGI.

Problem

As a beginner, I wanted to learn how to control camera movement, lighting direction, and 3D object placement in a believable space using Blender.

Solution

I created a simple environment with a central Ganpati statue and animated a smooth fly-through using keyframes and Bézier curves. Focused on directional lighting, shadow softness, and perspective matching to mimic drone footage.

Impact

Though experimental, this project marked a major learning step in my CGI journey. It gave me confidence in animating scenes and applying real-world physics like light and scale, forming the base for my future commercial CGI work.

My Responsibilities

  • Designed the scene layout in Blender using basic primitives and lighting rigs.
  • Created a 3D Ganpati idol model or used placeholder to simulate religious context.
  • Animated a drone-style camera pass using curve path constraints.
  • Practiced soft shadows, volumetric light, and environment fog.
  • Rendered final video at high resolution for detailed study and feedback.
